Weight & Metabolic Health Consultation

A holistic approach to weight loss, moving beyond calories in - calories out.

Did you know that each person doesn't have one single ideal body weight? Your ideal body weight is a weight range within which you feel your best, function well without pain, don't have any metabolic diseases, and support long-term health. It is not necessarily your leanest weight, but a weight that allows you to maintain good energy, healthy habits, metabolic wellbeing, and a positive relationship with food and movement.

Weight gain, stubborn fat loss, increased cravings, fatigue, and difficulty maintaining a healthy weight are often signs that something deeper may be driving metabolic dysfunction. Rather than focusing on restrictive diets or quick fixes, this consultation takes a holistic, evidence-based approach to identify the underlying barriers affecting your weight.

This consultation may be right for you if you:

What we explore during this consultation:

Nutrition

Nutrition is the foundation of weight loss. But our philosophy is not about extreme calorie restriction, but changing the type of foods you eat to assist with sustainable weight loss.

Sleep & Stress

Chronic stress and poor sleep can contribute to weight gain and to our ability to implement nutrition and exercise interventions. We will look at improving your sleep hygiene and stress management techniques that can aid your weight optimisation journey.

Exercise

Many people think that the key to weight loss is endless cardio and that building muscle makes you look bulky. But building muscle increases basal metabolic rate and is key for long-term, sustainable weight loss and optimising insulin sensitivity.

Body Composition

We go beyond just a number on a scale and focus on optimising body composition, as fat and muscle have very different metabolic impacts on disease. We may recommend a Dexa body composition scan for you.

Biomarkers

At the initial assessment, we will assess you for any medical conditions that could be contributing to your weight gain and will order appropriate blood tests where necessary.

Emotional triggers

Stress or emotional eating is much more common than people realise and is present to an extent for all of us. We will look at the specific stress triggers for you and develop a strategy to overcome these triggers.
