  • Health & Medical History: Symptoms, diagnoses, treatment history, medications, allergies, lifestyle data.

  • Telemedicine Records: Consultation notes, video/audio session logs (if recorded), communication logs.

  • Administrative & Billing: Payment information.

  • Technical & Website Data: IP address, device details, usage statistics (these may be collected by our website and other third party software used).

  • Any information provided voluntarily through forms, consultations, inquiries, or scheduling requests

4. Why We Collect and Use Your Information

In accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), we collect and process your personal and health information only where necessary and lawful for the provision of healthcare services.
 

We process your information to:

  • Provide lifestyle medicine consultations, blood testing coordination, clinical analysis, interpretation, and treatment planning.

  • Communicate with you regarding appointments, results, follow-ups, and care-related matters.

  • Share relevant information with accredited laboratories, trusted healthcare professionals, or specialists where necessary for testing or continuity of care.

  • Share educational newsletters, health insights, and promotional offers (you may opt out at any time).

  • Conduct internal clinical auditing, quality assurance, and service improvement (using anonymized or aggregated data where possible).

  • Comply with legal, regulatory, ethical, and professional obligations.

Your health information is not used for marketing purposes without your explicit, informed consent.

5. Consent

Before processing your personal and sensitive information, we obtain your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time, subject to lawful requirements for record retention. A consent form will be required prior to an initial consultation.

10. Use of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tools

To support clinical documentation and service efficiency, we may use secure digital tools, including artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted technologies, to help generate consultation transcripts, clinical summaries, reports, or other administrative documentation.

These tools are used solely to assist with record-keeping, analysis, and communication related to your care. All clinical decisions, interpretations, and recommendations remain the responsibility of the healthcare practitioner.

 

Where AI-assisted tools are used:

  • Your information is processed only for legitimate healthcare purposes.

  • Reasonable safeguards are implemented to protect confidentiality and data security.

  • Any third-party technology providers are required to maintain appropriate privacy and security standards.

 

We do not use your identifiable health information to train public AI systems without your explicit consent.

11. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a suspected or confirmed data breach or unauthorised access to personal information, we will notify affected individuals as soon as reasonably possible. Where required, we will also notify the South African Information Regulator in accordance with POPIA.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or security practices. The most current version will always be available on our website. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
